Sweet Baby Clementine

I love how every time I get to photograph a newborn the wonder of new life is never lost on me. They are all miracles and I feel so lucky to get to capture their tiny perfect features. I walked into Sarah and Ben’s home and I was immediately inspired by the light streaming in their quaint home and the contrast that I saw naturally. This is the part of the job that I love so much. Each home and each person is unique and that is why I see it as a challenge to capture them as they are in that exact moment. Sweet Clementine has the best red hair and I loved how it looked on the jewel tones of their couch. It doesn’t take much to capture emotion when you get to be in the presence of brand new life. I love these images they are some of my favorites. I know they will cherish them for a very long time.

Sarah + Andy's Cafe Brauer Winter Wedding

I love a good romantic winter wedding. Sarah and Andy’s wedding was exactly that. They are two of the sweetest most caring souls that I have had the privilege of working with. Their day was elegant and classic and just the perfect touch of traditional. This classic Chicago wedding began at the Hyatt where the couple and their bridal parties got ready. After the hotel we headed to the church where Andy saw his bride for the first time as she was walking down the aisle. After the ceremony we had to navigate a little bit of a rainy day but we were able to then get on the trolley and stop at the Wrigley building then to Lincoln Park where the reception was taking place at Cafe Brauer. There is something so special about a winter wedding that feels different than all my summer weddings. It was fun to see their reaction as they saw the room setup for the first time. Then the couple danced the night away celebrating their new marriage to one another! It was such a great day and I loved being able to capture it!

Jenna + David's New York City Engagement

Fall in New York City really is the perfect time for an engagement shoot. We couldn’t have asked for a better day or weekend for a stroll through Central Park. When Jenna and David asked me to shoot their photos in NYC I said yes right away. I love to travel and getting to explore a city I don’t know all that well was so much fun. Jenna is from Chicago and David is from New York and their wedding took place in Florida. They wanted to represent the city where they met and fell in love by photographing them there. They were both such naturals in front of the camera having an ease with one another that made my job easy. In New York City there is a challenge of photographing with so many people around all the time. That being said I do like how it give a sense of where we were and how the pace of life is a bit faster with so many things happening at the same time. After we walked through Central Park by the iconic fountain and the boat house we went to the High Line which is a path and park that was made where an old railroad line used to be. After that the perfect ending for evening was to photograph them at a bar in the meat packing district. Jenna and David are such kind people I was so happy to be asked to capture this special time in their lives!.

Matt + Brittany's Gorgeous October Wedding

Matt and Brittany got married on an absolutely gorgeous day in October. When I first met Brittany and Matt for their engagement session you could immediately tell they had a contagiousness about them. Which is exactly how I felt their wedding was, beautiful and fun and all about celebrating the two of them with all of the people that they love. I love how Brittany incorporated palm leaves into her wedding flowers she made a traditional wedding setting into a tropical oasis because that is what she loves! The ceremony was at a church in Wheaton and the reception took place at Esplande Lakes. Cheers to Brittany and Matt and a long live together!

A Front Porch Session

In the craziness that we have all experienced these last couple of months I wanted a creative way to capture it all. So I called up my brother and his family and asked if I could photograph them in their driveway. My niece loves to dress up in costumes so I thought it might be fun for them to get to do what they would normally be doing but while I photograph them. There is something so strange about the times we are doing through and for each family it impacts them differently. As we are all in different stages of life I thought it might be a fun idea to capture this time in life where we are all at home most of the time and how we are trying our best to navigate it. I also am a firm believer in capturing kids how they really are so after a few more posed photos I just wanted them to play that’s what kids do! Also, I know I am biased but I think they are pretty cute.

Courtney + Jack's Engagement Session

The day of Courtney and Jack’s engagement was beautiful! It was the perfect evening for a photo shoot and their love for one another was very evident right away. I had met Courtney before because I had photographed her sister’s wedding a few years prior so it was so nice to see her again. I love how easily Jack makes Courtney laugh which make for a really easy time photographing them. I cannot wait until next year when we finally get to celebrate their wedding!

Adam+Aleece's Wedding

Adam and Aleece’s wedding was a classic fall wedding with beautiful soft colors that created the perfect backdrop for their big day last October. When I first met with them for their engagement shoot there was a sweet love for one another that you could simply feel. It makes for an easy couple to photograph because they were very natural in front of the camera. Therefore I was very excited for their big day because I knew it was going to be the best day. The ceremony and the reception were both at the same location so the couple told me they would like to do a first look. I really enjoy photographing the first look because there is something special about when the couple gets to see each other for the first time. I think it creates an intimate setting that creates a fun moment to capture. The bridesmaids wore a beautiful shade of blush dresses which created the perfect color against the green backdrop of the outdoors. The ceremony was sweet and meaningful and then the couple danced the night away with their family and friends. It really was a special celebration of their love. I was so happy to be the one capturing it all.

In A Greenhouse With The McNitt Family

The weather in Chicago is unpredictable to be quite frank. Most of the year we just never really know what is going to happen especially in the fall. Therefore when Jessica suggested capturing their family photos in a local greenhouse at the Botanical Gardens I was excited because it was the perfect spot for this little family. Their babies are only eighteen months apart in age which can have its challenges. But I have enjoyed photographing this little family has it has grown these past couple of years. There is something so special about those candid moments in between shots that I love so much. I can’t wait to watch this sweet family grow!

Lexie + Joe's Classic Wedding at The Morton Arboretum

Lexie and Joe are beautiful both on the inside and out and their big day was a beautiful reflection of that. Their wedding was the perfect mix of classic colors and timeless choices that I know they will look back on and remember for years to come. Their ceremony was at a St. Micheal’s Church in Wheaton and the reception was at the Morton Arboretum, which provided a gorgeous green background for their photos. The tent reception was full to the brim with guests where a live band played well into the night. It was the perfect day for two of the sweetest people and I was so happy to be a part of it.
